Earlier last week, AT&T announced that the Samsung Galaxy Note would be available in store shelves as early as mid-February. As of today, customers can put in a preorder that will secure them with the device.

The smartphone has been discussed as a smartphone/tablet hybrid because of its size and its active S Pen. With a 5.3-inch display, the device is larger than its smartphone competitors and significantly smaller than its tablet counterparts. Most advertisements for the Galaxy Note feature a stylus dubbed the S Pen that docks within the Note and services as an active pen for note-taking and doodling, as well as UI navigation.

Customers can now pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Note through AT&T’s website for $299.99 and a two-year contract.

When released, the American version of the Galaxy Note will run Android Gingerbread (2.3). An upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) is in development.

It will be built around a dual-core 1.5GHz processor with 1GB of RAM.  AT&T's version will have 16GB of internal storage with a microSD slot for additional memory. It will also support 4G LTE and will have Bluetooth capability.

All versions of this Samsung device sport a rear-facing 8MP camera that can record 1080p video, as well as a 2MP front-facing camera, and a 2500 mAH battery.
