Jerzy Tablet PC Vs Apple iPad

Bookmark and Share

Ever since Apple announced the iPad on January 26, 2010, other computer manufacturers have been scrambling to release tablet devices of their own. One of these is the Ezy Tablet PC. But how does the Ezy Tablet PC stack up against the iPad? Let's take a look at some of the similarities and differences:

1. Screen Size

The Ezy Tablet barely edges out the iPad in terms of screen size. The iPad has a 9.7" screen, while the Ezy Tablet sports a 10.2" screen. Both of them have full multi-touch capabilities.

2. Weight

Although the Ezy Tablet has a slightly bigger screen, it is also much heavier. It weighs in at about 2.2 pounds, compared to the iPad's 1.5 pounds. If you plan on holding this in front of you for an extended period of time, this could make quite a bit of difference.

3. Camera

This was one feature that many Apple fans felt was sorely missing from the iPad. Luckily, the makers of the Ezy have addressed this issue and have included a 1.3 megapixel camera/webcam. This is a must if you like taking pictures on the go or setting up a video chat with your friends.

4. Operating System

Many Apple fans were hoping that the iPad would feature the full Mac OSX operating system that they love on their Macs. Instead, Apple is aiming toward customer ease of use and is shipping the iPad with essentially the same software that is on their iPhone and iPod Touch. The Ezy Tablet, on the other hand, is a full blown computer with the ability to run either Windows Vista or Windows 7.

5. Battery

Running a full computer on such a compact device uses a lot of power. That's why the iPad can last 10 hours on a single charge, while the Ezy Tablet PC can only last 3.5 hours. If you want to watch movies on your device, this could be the difference between one movie or 4 movies.

6. Storage

The Ezy Tablet PC offers a generous 250 GB hard drive, compared to the iPad's relatively paltry 64 GB maximum. There is no question who wins on this feature.

7. Internet Connectivity

Both devices feature both a Wi-Fi and 3G internet option. The basic iPad model has only Wi-Fi, but you can pay a little more for 3G.

8. Price

This is what it all comes down to, because if the Ezy Tablet PC can't compete on price, then it doesn't matter how many extra features it has. The iPad starts at $499, and the Ezy Tablet starts at $679. Not bad, but it doesn't come with an operating system, so you'll need to buy that too, which pushes the price above $800.

So what's the final verdict? The Ezy looks like a great Tablet PC at a relatively affordable price. The iPad [http://www.buyipadonline.com] on the other hand, is more affordable and is more of a media device for music, movies, and games rather than a full computer. So it depends on what you are looking for. I'd personally throw the Ezy into a Rubbermaid trash can before my iPad.
