1. The software

The ASUS transformer has recently updated its operating system Android Honeycomb 3.2. Currently, the 10.1 Galaxy still runs with Honeycomb 3.1, but may only receive a similar upgrade. With the new 3.2 Honeycomb, both will be working with the same capabilities of OS.

2 Processor of

The transformer and the Galaxy have the same processor dual-core 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2. This means that both tablet PCs are fast and sensitive.

The ASUS transformer has 1 GB worth of RAM and an internal storage of 16 and 32 GB, with an additional SD card slot micro to increase storage capacity. The Galaxy also has a 1 GB of RAM and an internal storage of 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB with a SD card integrated storage expansion slot.

1 Screen of

The ASUS transformer has a touch screen of 10.1 inches with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Also has a stunning IPS panel show. The Galaxy has the same screen multi-touch, resolution and TFT-LCD screen

2 Camera

The transformer has a 5 megapixel rear and front face towards another 1.2-megapixel. The Galaxy also sports two chambers: 3 megapixel camera at the back and 2 megapixel camera on the front.

3 Connectivity

The transformer has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, GPS technology and a mini HDMI port connectivity. Two full-size USB ports are available only at the base of the keyboard. The Galaxy has Wi-Fi, 3 G, Bluetooth and GPS technologies. It is also able to use the stereo FM with RDS function, but the Galaxy does not have any USB port. A USB adapter, however, can be purchased separately for USB connections.

The transformer has an expected battery life of up to 10 hours, but can last up to 16 hours if it is connected to the keyboard dock. The battery life of the Galaxy 10.1can reach only 9 hours.

7 Price of

The transformer is priced at $399 for 16 GB version and $499 for 32 GB version. With a detachable keyboard dock, it will cost $150 more. The Galaxy costs $499 for the version of 16 GB and $599 for the 32 GB version.

The verdict

Based on the technical specifications mentioned including pricing, the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer scored higher points that the Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1. The Galaxy Tab is not a bad choice, but if you prefer better performance worth the cost, they could do more with the transformer.
