2011 is the year of tablet. As more and more products hit the market, consumers have more and more choices to choose from.

iPad 2

The all-new iPad 2 changes everything once again. Measuring in at only 8.8 millimeters, the slim style is 33% thinner than its Henri. It's also significantly lighter, weighing 1.3 lbs and almoƧ to 9.7 inch, 1024 x 768 screen. Even with its slimmer looks, battery life remains to solid 10 hours. The iPad 2 boasts to dual - core A5 chip and graphic capabilities that are 9 x faster. Likewise, it will run the new iOs 4.3. The update allows iPad 2 users the ability to choose whether the switch acts as a mute button or screen orientation lock.

Additional new features include a three-axis gyroscope, front and rear facing video cameras and cameras. iPad 2 users will warmly welcome the ability to use FaceTime, the popular video calling feature available on the iPhone 4. Available in black and white models for both AT & T and Verizon, the iPad 2 is available in WiFi or 3 G options.

Samsung Galaxy Tab

At less than a half-inch thick and sporting to 7 inch, 1024 x 600 screen, the Samsung Galaxy Tab is small enough to fit into back pocket. The touchscreen technology runs on Google's Android 2.2 software, which allows users to take full advantage of the Tab. The Galaxy Tab has WiFi and 3 G wireless technology. The instant Wi-Fi hotspot is a nice touch, as is the open-source developer capabilities. Features include a front and back camera, Adobe Flash Player and a video camera sets it apart. The Galaxy Tab has up to 32 GB capacity and a battery life of up to 7 hours. Priced from $499.

Motorola Xoom

The Motorola Xoom adds another tablet option. The 10.1 inch 1280 x 800 touchscreen tablet is about.5 inches thick and weighs about 1.6 lbs. It runs on the new Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system, offering Adobe Flash multitasking, rich notifications and widgets. The Xoom has 3 G and 4 g LTE technology 7.1. Likewise, the Xoom has a built-in front and back camera, video recording and HD playback capability. With a 32 GB capacity and a 10 hour battery, it's a forward thinking tablet option.

BlackBerry PlayBook

The self-described tablet for business, the BlackBerry PlayBook executes style and performance. Weighing in at under a pound, the 7-inch, 1024 x 600 resolution touchscreen LCD display keeps things slim at only.4 inches thick. It's available in 3 G and 4 G models, as well as Wi-Fi capabilities. The PlayBook runs on the new BlackBerry Tablet OS, which use many of the familiar features of the BlackBerry OS. It offers support for Adobe Flash Play, video conferencing technology and multi-tasking. Additional features in a front and back camera, HD playback and a HDMI port, which sets it apart from other tablets.

HP TouchPad

The HP TouchPad calls itself the next big thing. Similar in looks to the iPad, the TouchPad offers a 9.7-inch, 1024 x 768 touchscreen. Weighing 1.6 pounds, it packs in a variety of features, including the highly desirable Touchstone technology. This feature allows users to share e-mail, video and other applications simply by touching a phone to the TouchPad. Also included on the TouchPad are a front-facing web camera, multiple data ports, and options for wireless printing and charging. Run on the new HP webOS, the TouchPad supports Adobe Flash for browsing internet sites, as well as true multitasking. TouchPad offers 16 GB and 32 GB internal storage options. The device will debut with a wireless option, but expect 3 G and 4 G models to arrive soon after.
