Despite the many controversies and negativity regarding the Adam Tablet, this tablet computer is worth some attention. Even though many have not heard of the Adam Tablet, this device has successfully won the hearts of many 'Adam-ites'. The popularity is made clear from the blog comments of Adam Tablet fans that depict how religiously they follow and preach how mind-blowing it really is. The Adam Tablet is manufactured by a Bangalore-based company called Notion Ink. The reason leading to the lack of knowledge regarding this tablet is the fact that the company is still in its start-up stages and also, the company has not yet adopted any marketing or promotional strategies. In most cases the development or any other communication regarding the Adam Tablet is done directly by the company CEO, Rohan Sharvan.

What is praise-worthy about the Adam Tablet is that it is the first Android device to come equipped with Trans-reflective Pixel Qi dual-mode low-power screen display. Notion Ink has introduced this Android Tablet with four different options to choose from which includes LCD and Wi-Fi; LCD, Wi-Fi and 3G; Pixel Qi and Wi-Fi; and Pixel Qi, Wi-Fi and 3G. Further elaborating on the specifications, and has a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 250 processor which allows for 1080 pixel video output. This tablet is running Andriod 2.2 OS which is customized to support the Eden platform developed by Notion Ink. The weight is 730 g which is comparatively heavier and have a 10.1 inch screen size.

From the above mentioned features it sounds like Adam Tablet is a direct competition for the other tablet PCs such as iPad, Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy; however that is not the case. Ever since its pre-order launch in December 2010, it has received numerous complaints regarding the product. Poor customer support, shipping problems, wrong order delivery and low build quality are among the most common criticism. In January 2011, there was claim put forward by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regarding the poor build quality of the manually linked wires and components. The CEO, in his Notion Ink official blog defended the Adam Tablet by stating that the product is of a start-up company and admitting it is not a 'beautiful assembly'.

Regardless, in the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) where Adam Tablet was presented to the public to see and succeeded in getting positive internal reviews but some walked out not entirely overwhelmed. Recently, there have been updates the operating system, including support for the Kindle eBook Reader, customized Honeycomb ROM and additional support for Dolphin web-browser. With the prices being slightly below the average tablet prices, there are some interested buyers of the product. As mentioned before, regardless of lack of promotion and marketing, there is a huge Adam fan base which signals the success and further popularity of the device. However, the future is still uncertain for this tablet with major established brands like Motorola, Samsung, Apple and Asus adding new and improved versions to their existing line of tablet computers.
