If you returned your Motorola Xoom last year, someone else might be carrying around your personal information on that same tablet.
About 100 tablets sold on Woot.com last year still contained the previous owner’s personal information. These tablets were sold between October and December of 2011. Motorola claims that these tablets were supposed to be wiped clean and refurbished before resale, but looks like those in charge missed a few.
Tablets that were returned to outlets including Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, eBay, Radio Shack, and Staples were affected. Motorola said that those who did return their Xoom to one of those retailers will receive a free subscription to Experian’s Protect MyID credit monitoring service.
